No, actually that sounds like crap. For metal you need your mids a decent ways up. That will give you more clarity, you'll cut through the drums and bass better, and your tone will be more aggressive.

It WILL sound good at low volumes, but if you're planning on gigging you need mids.
The bass guitar is supposed to occupy the low end frequencies while the guitar takes care of the mids. So you won't really "cut through" (be heard very well), if you scoop the mids.
But it will sound nice if you're just playing in your room or something, you'll get a nice heavy sound, just don't plan on trying that at a gig.
