I think the west coast around huntington beach is best for that sort of thing.

You're lucky, anyway. Here in Iowa there isn't a scene of any type. Pretty much no music, no concerts, nothing. Perfect Circle came by not too long ago and that's about all we've had since Marilyn Manson came by right after Columbine. And slipknot doesn't count, their singer disqualifies them from being considered music.
