you might consider getting a Boogie Studio Preamp. They were based on the old .22 cal studio amp that was considered by many people to be the best lead sound ever produced by boogie. The preamps are even better because they produce less noise but retain the killer lead sound. You can hook them up to the power amp of your choice and the cab that makes you happy. $ on about 300 for the pre and that is pretty good for a boogie. I use one and the sound is unreal -- even at low volumes using the recording outputs. But I don't consider it a high gain pre so using a good distortion pedal for a virtual third channel might be a good idea. Just some thoughts. http://shredlikehell.comhttp://guitarsoc.homestead.com
