Er..why? the National Health System's on its knees, the rail network is totally f**ked up, the government comprises a bunch of 5th rate wan*ers who couldnt organise a piss-up in a brewery and go around picking fights with other countries while at the same time cutting back on recruitment to the army. We have next to no manufacturing now, having been the home of the industrial revolution. Crime's rapidly increasing but there's a shortage of police officers. The shortage of teachers is so bad we're having to recruit from countries like Bulgaria.

To buy a house now you need to be a millionaire. Food and clothes are more than twice as much as in the rest of the EU. Everything is cheaper in the US and Canada. In the big CD chains, CD's cost around £14 -17, equivalent to $20 -25. Generally, you can take a price for anything in the US and Canada, replace the $ for a £ and that's what it costs over here.

The UK's well behind the rest of Europe in recycling, pollution control, alternative fuel technology etc

We're stuck with an outdated monarchy who are getting less popular by the day but they're not answerable to the public.

Celebrity mania has reached such unhealthy levels that saddoes queue in the rain outside the Big Brother House for contestants autographs.

We're responsible for foisting the Spice Girls on an unsuspecting world.

Liz Hurley and Catherine Zeta Jones are the best we've got. Jade off Big Brother and Sporty Spice are more representative.

My advice. Stay where you are or move somewhere else.
