Check out the tips in my first reply. Also, try using heavier gauge strings, like .10s or .11s. (in case that doesn't mean anything to you, when you get strings, make sure that the lowest string gauge value is .10 or .11; e.g. a set may say something like .11-.53 somewhere on the package).

I've found that I get a thicker sound with a little less distortion than I used to think was necessary. With my Boss MT-2, I like to have the lows pumped, the highs at around 1 o'clock, the outer mid dial at 2 o'clock and the smaller mid dial at 10 o'clock. The distortion I set to taste, normally between 9 and 1 o'clock. I used to crank it, but found that there was better note clarity and "chunk" between 9 and 1 o'clock.

I almost never switch off the neck pickup (I just prefer the tone and volume), and I like to keep the tone dial at 10 and I play around with the volume a bit, but normally it's at 10 also.

Try that out, see what happens let us know. Keep asking 'till you get a good answer. Oh, and try the search function.

e.g. Click here - aren't you proud of me, Lordathestrings?.... heh heh, this thread showed up in the search...
... and that's all I have to say about that.
