I use an old Digitech Rp-6 processor and I can get some pretty chuggin distortion sounds.

If you're using a regular distortion pedal through and amp, turn the gain up pretty high, around 8 or so.

Then turn the bass on your amp up pretty high,7 or 8, turn the mids down to about 3 and the treble around 5 or so.

You should get a pretty good chugging sound.

Keep in mind if you want to play with a band, it will be hard to hear your guitar with the mids scooped like that.
