The way I look at the site is to give advice, ask advice and have discussions with people who have a little in common with me. Some of the stuff is topical and some is specifically guitar related. I don't see the prob with opening a thread about something other than guitars. As I remember this is the "Open Disscussion" section.
N as far as meaningful convos go, every now n then theres a disscussion of politics, if ya call that meaningfull.
