Simon-
You are almost completely right, except when you said that only practice will make you a better guitarist; Remember "Brain Stimulation Theory"? Practicing the guitar isn't the only means of getting better, although it is the principle one. I just read "The Sirens of Titan", and my playing exploded one further step after reading it; Phenomenal book, I'm addicted to Vonnegut! I read TimeQuake and SoT so far, plan on buyin Cat's Cradle in the next few days.

Anyone read Ray Bradbury's "Dandelion Wine"? I'm reading it right now, I'm kind of disgusted at Ray right now; Fahrenheit 451, Martian Chronicles, etc, were such great books, and for some reason, I don't really like this one. It's filled with sappy, emotional metaphors, among other things. Just wondering what you guys thought of it.

What ever floats your boat dude !

I wish I had more time to read fiction, Im normally worded out and full up with the most dreadful stolid scientific literature by the time I get home.

Have you tried Homeboy by a guy called Seth Morgan ? It is one of my faveriots!

May be a "your fave book" thread in the open discussion section would be good for a giggle !

I'll check out Homeboy sometime in the next few weeks;

I'm still waiting for Crime & Punishment to come in to my library! Grr!! (Shakes fist); Some guy has had it, overdue, for the past two months! I'm looking forward to actually seeing the character "Raskilnokov" in the Book (I was told that Raskilnokov was a character from C & P), because whenever that name comes up, I think of our favorite GuitarTricks Bassist.

makes me wish I had read that one (crime and punishment), I always heard dreadfull things about it in college, that it was a tedious read.
