Totally normal — everyone struggles with the pinky in the beginning! It’s the weakest and least coordinated finger by default, so it just takes consistent practice and time to catch up. slope game
A few things that really helped me:
• Spider exercises (1-2-3-4 patterns) across the strings — do them slowly and make sure each note rings clearly.
• Hammer-ons and pull-offs with the pinky — start on the high E string and focus on control, not speed.
• Light pressure — don’t overpress. Often the pinky tenses up when we try too hard.
Try to keep your wrist relaxed and your thumb behind the neck (not wrapped around). Over a few months, you’ll notice it getting smoother and more stable. It’s not that you’re doing anything wrong — it’s just a matter of patience and muscle memory. Keep at it and it’ll come together.
