I know the frets but moving between them to play the notes I get a brain freeze. I use the dots on the neck as the odd number frets - 3,5,7,9 etc. But I find when I'm performing the exercise - I look at the video in slow mode then I practice myself - no video for about 20 min, I get that brain freeze - moving between the frets.

My thought - get tiny pieces of tape, number 1, 2, 3 etc. place on the frets until I know the frets with no hesitation. Are there any suggestions how to improve where to place my fingers on the frets or an exercise/video that I should review before I continue the class I'm currently on?

Thanks,

there a lot of things like this Bob that will just work themselves out with regular practice, and knowing where to fret will just become a natural movement. I am not discouraging the use of markers, but I think in time with regular practice you will just "know it".
