The reasoning behind the majority of members not liking him is much different than the reasoning for moderators not liking him. The average member on guitartricks is relatively humble; they are here for help, and will not waste their own time posting things that nobody cares about. They disliked Metalic Dude because he was an egotistic, a hypocrite, etc. The Moderators didn't like him because he was a problem for the board. His lack of punctuality, grammatical sense, and respect for the rest of the board was, after a period of time, intolerable.

Metalic Dude did not get along well with myself; I personally urge you to read "Brain Stimulation Theory" By Incidents Happen, and you'll find that Metalic Dude questioned my reading ethics, saying he's seen things that I never will, etc. He also mentioned Lord of the Rings as being pink and fluffy, to tell you the mindset of this member.
During the "Stop Bullying....Start Acting" thread, I took a stand and told the thread starter that it is our right to object to his posts, if it was his right to start posts like that. In the end, no rallies were formed in favor of Metalic Dude, and the thread starter changed his mind about Metalic Dude, deciding he wasn't worth sticking up for. Shortly after, he commented that he was going on tour; Most of us kept our cool, and asked "When are your tour dates? Where will you be playing at? What time?", yet he didn't reply to any of them. Some members went off on him about the fact that he thinks he's going on tour, when in fact he needs help with pull-offs, others realized that the bashing was to be over with, he will no longer plague our boards.

That is not to say that bashing doesn't plague our boards as well; Flaming is not acceptable on this board, constructive critisism is. It is not acceptable to post a message saying "_________(insert Screen Name) YOU SUCK!",that attitude is not acceptable around here. What is acceptable, is saying something to the extent of "(Insert Screen Name), We'd have more respect for you if you could actually put a few sentences together! Sheesh!"; sorry if those were bad examples, but you get the point.
