Honestly, when I started, I didn’t have any courses to guide me either. However, if you're serious about learning to read music, I'd recommend going the classical route. Classical musicians learn to read notes from the very beginning because it’s fundamental to everything. If you have an instrument, like the piano, spend a few hours each week practicing reading sheet music along with your playing. The more you do it, the easier it gets to recognize patterns. But yes, it’s a time investment that pays off when you can sight-read well!
