In order to stop palming the neck, bring your fingers all the way around to the string side of the neck. Use your thumb on the back of the neck to provide opposing pressure. I have more on fretting hand mechanics in this tutorial.

Thank you, Christopher. This is exactly what I needed. I also realized I need to work on my wrist's flexibility. Lost some movement from a broken wrist years ago. I'll get there eventually this is all part of the journey.
