Hi mirriz1,


You could use the "open chord" form, which is not a barre chord.


The map for that is XX0231


The open D string becomes the 'bass note'. 


The open low E and A are not played. 


The fretted notes, along with that open D string, create a D minor chord.


Definitely has a different TONE than the barre chord version, but it is indeed still a Dm chord.
