I think you guys need to get out more, some of the finest musicians I've met are drummers. Either that or you are both just really unlucky and live in places where all the drummers suck.
Anywhooo....it doesn't matter what instrument you play, if you have a lousy attitude, no one wants to work with you. Thats why a lot of bands bust.
Just to further deflate your drummer theory, the most egotistical musicians I run into are usually other guitarists. :)
