Here is an A minor pentatonic;
-----------------------5-----
-------------------5-8-------
---------------5-7-----------
-----------5-7---------------
-------5-7-------------------
---5-8-----------------------
And here's an A blues scale;
----------------------------5------
-----------------------5-8---------
-----------------5-7-8-------------
-------------5-7-------------------
-------5-6-7-----------------------
---5-8-----------------------------
Or an A Major scale;
---------------------------4-5---
-----------------------5-7-------
-----------------4-6-7-----------
-----------4-6-7-----------------
------4-5-7----------------------
--5-7----------------------------
Or an A Natural Minor Scale;
------------------------------5---
------------------------5-6-8-----
------------------4-5-7-----------
--------------5-7-----------------
--------5-7-8---------------------
--5-7-8---------------------------
Or an A Minor Harmonic Scale;
----------------------------4-5----
------------------------5-6--------
------------------4-5-7------------
--------------6-7------------------
--------5-7-8----------------------
--5-7-8----------------------------
Or an A minor Melodic (play this one this way ascending, then descending, play the natural minor scale);
-------------------------------5---
-------------------------5-7-9-----
-------------------4-5-7-----------
---------------6-7-----------------
---------5-7-9---------------------
---5-7-8---------------------------
Play these clean, with a metronome, like everyone else said. If I've made any errors with these scales, someone let me know.
PS- This is the way I play em, so they may be a bit weird. there are probably better fingerings out there.
Edit-I had to correct the Natural Minor scale, I made a boo boo. Its all better now. :)
