Root-wood sounds like crap. cut out a body of some root-wood and knock on it - it sounds as if you are knocking on paperboard. thats because unlike normal wood the fibres are not growing into the same direction so that the sound ca nspread troughout it - roots do look cool - but they dont sound good.
