My worry is that after all the work of assembling and tracking down parts and the guitar sounds worse than my strat copy guitar.
Fender made an experimental Strat out of granite. No, really. It had a special stand that held it up so it could be played. Apparently, it didn't have much to offer in the way of tone, but the sustain was amazing!
Anyway, do some research. I was serious about that search keyword. The neck and fingerboard materials are just as important as the body - maybe even more important.
