Actually in a way they weren't REALLY homemade.... but they were.... He started out putting them together from Boogie bodies at Wayne Charvel's shop, then started using San Dimas model Charvels that he painted himself... Then when Grover Jackson pissed him off, he went to Kramer where he had free reign to do what the hell he wanted. I got photos of him in the Kramer factory building his guitars, but he definitely had help. SO I guess you could say they were "factory built" to his exact specifications. On a side note, Kramer, at one time wanted to build a replica of Eddie's guitar as a signature model, but he was such an ass about it that Kramer decided it would cost too much to build a guitar that looked beat to hell. Nowadays, they probably would do it, but I hear Ed was so picky that the cigarette burn marks had to be exact, and even the date on the quarter he had screwed to it had to be right. Makes me wonder if the burn marks had to be from his exact brand of smokes also LOL...
So. If you throw a cat out of a car window, is it considered "kitty litter"?
