I couldn't stand that, on my Les Paul Double Cut away, i get full access to the 22nd fret, after that i have to kinda try to get to 23 and 24, but that's a whole lot open space...
But! I imagine, you being a lefty, it works out for you pretty well.
(all you fender guys out there saying "hey, i can get to the 22nd fret too", the fact is that the Fender Bolt on style neck changes the open style from about the 17th fret, where the Neck and the body meet. Yeah, still cutaway, but not in the same sense).
Anyways, i find it interesting that you are interested in the Tennesee Rose as well. It's a beautiful guitar (as all of Gretsch's are), i love the inlays (thumbnails).
my interest in Gretsch took off when i saw Dave Gilmour playing one on his DVD, "Dave Gilmour: Live in Concert". He played one for various tunes like Comfortably numb, shine on you crazy diamond, etc...sounded amazing.
That "Jazz Tone" to me sounds so beautiful, so thick, you know, that's what really makes me consider a Gretsch hollowbody.
What I don't like about Gretsch's, are the way they spread out the electronics all over (that really pisses me off, i like everything in one place).
