aiwass has clearly missed the point. I started this thread to draw attention to the fact that some of the greatest solos arent just limited to high speed legatos. I'm as big a fan of Satch and Steve V's fretburning as any. What separates these 2 from most of the rest is that they play with taste and know when to let rip at the right time. too many other 'rated' players dont have these qualities and shred for its own sake when it clearly doesnt suit the song.
