In this forum there's a bit too much preoccupation with shredding. For me , some of the best solos are not necessarily fast but perhaps feature a lot of string bending and sustain and just simply get you in the gut. You know the feeling I mean? Examples

Baker Street by Jerry Rafferty - brilliant use of sustain and whammy bar.
All right now - ultimate for air guitar tortured look
Another brick in the wall and Shine on you crazy diamond - for me there's more feeling i each of the solos on these 2 tracks than in a thousand CDs worth of shredding.
