I heard somewhere, if you wanna pick fast you gotta hold it and pick so that only the tip/small part of your pick touches the strings. This will reduce resistance blah blah blah... all that physics. Anyhow is this the truth about picking fast? Any tips on improving picking???

My main problem is picking whilst changing strings, I can hack away linear runs, but I get hammered while doing scalar runs :( HELP FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!!!!!!!!
