Nowadays, with a job, university, girlfriend, and other commitments, I barely practice. Maybe twice a week. However, I play in a band on weekends and that helps me maintain consistency. I'm confident enough with my guitar skills that I'm not worried about forgetting licks, technical tricks, or whatever. But I don't recommend not practicing...and if I ever win the lottery or hit it big, I would certainly spend more hours practicing.

Admittedly, I've gotten very lazy with practicing. When I first began playing guitar (8 yrs ago), I'd practice in my bedroom for like 5-6 hours a day...literally from the moment I got home from highschool till like 8pm. During the summer, however, sometimes I'd barely leave the house. I would practice all day.
