J.D. Salinger is still living a reclusive life (in New York apparently), after writing a literary one-hit-wonder called "The Catcher In The Rye". It was shocking and revolutionary at the time, (yeah, the 60's again!), but has since found its way into the curicula of most North American high schools.

"My First Gig" has the same sort of narrative, with the central character, updated to our times, dropped into the punk scene. It makes a good read, but it does instill a strong sense of 'deja vu' in an old fart like me.
