I started doing this years ago. I pick any note for instance G, and I use a metronome on a slow setting and find all the notes in time with the metronome, once I have it, I increase the metronome and find all the notes in time with that beat, and I keep doing this and increasing the metronome speed. This is the only time I ever use a metronome. It might help you.
