I’d probably keep using the two-finger pattern for now if it feels good. You’re already comfortable with it. There’s no one way to fingerpick and a lot of players end up with different techniques depending on the music they play. That said, trying the three-finger method might be useful if it starts to feel more natural or if you want control, between the low strings and the high strings. It could feel strange at first since your hands are used to a way but taking it slow with simple patterns should help you adjust. Think of it as picking up another tool of tearing down what you already have.
