Yeah , for most FR sys , you cut off the ball end of the string before fixing it into the bridge .

But I've seen some newer FR sys (on an Ibanez as far as I can remember) that is strung without cutting the ball end like a normal guitar.

Anyway , it's not hard or time wasting ... Cuting the ball off all the strings takes less than a min.
