I have three guitars, but I'm a newbie guitar player. Weird, right? One electric was raffle prize. Later bought an acoustic, thinking I could pick up where I left off when I took lessons back in the before-times(ie junior high). Let that fall to the wayside because... reasons. Fast forward a couple years later, and in a brash, ill-advised move, I bought a semi-hollow thinking that "oh noes, now I'm commited. I'd better learn". I should've known better. You can't just throw money at any endeavor and think it will make any difference. Downright stupid, John. Foolish in the very least.

After a bit of soul-searching, here I am, hat in hand(do the cool kids say that anymore?), ready to make an honest effort. I came to this site and was impressed by the breadth of content, the structured learning, and judging by the posts in this forum, a welcoming staff and community.

The long game: to be able to play some jazz improvisation.

Where I'm at: working through the fundmentals track and trying to overcome some challenges(ie finger strength and dexterity)

And that's it. I'm finally doing this thing. Got a long road ahead of me, but I'm on that road and hope to make the most of it.
