Hello All

Wife told me to get a hobby before I fully retire (a few yrs away). Always wanted to play guitar so decided to get serious about it.

I am currently struggling inside GF 1 and was contemplating taking up woodworking instead! I don't recall having this much difficulty in learning an instrument (trumpet) back in HS. I certainly drove the neighbours nuts with my practicing.

I decided to get into the forums and see what and how other people are doing. I quickly discoved that my problems are not unique. Didn't realize how many people were experiencing the same problems as I am. The encouraging repsonses I read are refreshing to say the least!

Not sure I'll reach the benchmark 10,000hrs of practice to become the next Jimmy Page/Rory Gallagher/SRV/(insert fav guitarist name here) but with renewed interest and motivation I'll keep at it.
