Keep in mind in that tutorial Anders is just giving you the basic idea of something interesting to do with a scale. "Look you don't have to just use scale notes in order. You can shake up the order to make it more interesting!"
So, you don't have to go beyond that. It really just depends on your goals. If you want to know every possible way to play 3rds in any scale, then that's fine. But you should have some purpose in mind for it.
Is there some song or musical idea you are trying to play? Are you just curious?
The ideas & patterns in the tutorials I linked are something you can learn & practice for as long as you are playing guitar. I still practice those patterns to warm up & keep in shape! So you don't have to learn them & do them all right now. Just take you time with them & add them to your practice routine as you are able & as they fit your goals & priorities.
