Hello Roger, Welcome aboard. Many of us in our 50's coming at it for first time or rekindling some of it from our early years so your in famiiar company.
Congrats on nearly completing GF1, but as far as expectations are concerned there aren't any really. Or at least at this level there shouldn't be. As soon as you set expectations you'll be putting pressure on yourself and then finding out as we all have that there is so much to learn on this instrument. GF2 is going to ramp up into many areas. Some theory, scales both major and minor and some unique chord variations that might take you a while to get comfortable with. All part of the normal process. Everyone learns at a different pace so just enjoy the process and take it at a pace that your comfortable with. The other students are here for encouragement and the instructors are great with answering any specific areas you need help with.
Good Luck,
Moe
