Hi all,

I'm a beginner and today was learning Boston's Peace of Mind (made easy version) with Mike Olekshy. It's a great lesson, but I'm kind of curious why he teaches it all with open chords. Wouldn't it be easier to play it with barre chords? Or is the idea here to get beginners like me better at open chord changes and strumming before moving to barre chords?
