the scalloped frets thing is not realy helping to play fast - i tried it more then once. the clue is that it makes you play with less action. now everyone thinks when you use a scalloped neck you can play faster because of the lower movements.. but infact you can use the VERY SAME technique of low action on a normal fretboard too - and voila - you will also be able to play faster.

but then again - once and for all - SPEED IS UNIMPORTANT!! *L*
