I started playing when I was 10, and was raised playing by ear and imitation in a family band. But you miss a lot when you learn that way. Subsequently I have taken some formal courses in music theory. As a result I have wierdly mismatched stuff in terms of what I can or can't play or what I do or don't understand. On the one hand I have a good sense of rhythm and can play some pretty advanced stuff, on the other, I can't make the simplest barre chord.
So I figured I'd sign up for guitar tricks and undertake a more systematic study so i can find and improve the things I've missed and ultimately become a better guitar player with more flexibility and knowledge.
So far I have really enjoyed Guitar Fundamentals I. It's really hard for me to know where to start, so I figured starting at the beginning would be logical even if it repeats some stuff I already know -- because having learned by ear and imitation, I have no idea what all I have missed![br][br][br]
