I've been doing Spider Legs as a limber-up exercise for my entire musical career. And that's a long time (not telling exactly HOW long, tee hee).
I think it's just a great exercise as it touches on so many skills and focal points, all in one simple little assignment.
Keep it up - at whatever level you are able. Try to make improvements in your tone, etc., over time. Try it with your eyes closed!!! (develops your hand's sense of "feel" of the lower end of the guitar neck.)
