If your ultimate goal is to be able to jam along with various styles of music, you'll want to get an undertanding of what makes those styles of music "work".

So in terms of structuring your learning, you might choose one of the very step-by-step courses, like Rock, or Blues, and go through it and learn the basics of the genre.

If you love to jam along, you'll probably also want to understand how the notes on the neck of the guitar "work" - chords and scales as they appear and re-appear up and down the neck of the guitar.

For that, I suggest you hop in to Guitar Fundamentals Level 2 - we do all the barre chord formations and relationships, plus scales.
