I joined Mar '19 mostly because of the songs. I had started in Jan of '19 with True Fire and had some chords down.

I find GT good, I renewed in Mar '20. I used it as well as other sites and teachers to get a better understanding of fundamentals.

I practice for an hour before work every morning, haven't missed a day of practice yet. Basically its some scale work, some chord work, theory and then fun time. Fun time might be spending some time working on a song I am trying to learn or it might be making up one on my own.

My goal was similar to yours in that when I started over a year ago I wanted to be able to sit with other players and be able to fit in and play along. For the most part I am there as long as we aren't playing anything too fast. Anything in the range of 60 - 120 bpm I can usually get my fingers where they need to be. This took me a long time and it wasn't that long ago that I had that "aha"moment of clarity and all of sudden the fret board made sense to me. So in reality, more than anything, the rest of this year will be concentrating on really getting comfortable with what I know so I can put it to use. I would really love to be like Rob Chapman and Lee if you ever watch the Anderton's videos. Rob just starts playing and he is all over the board without missing a note. That would be great, but not there yet. I miss lots of notes.

I am quite content being by myself with my looper pedal making up my own jams and trying to write licks however and that probably describes me most evenings.
