Sure, Logicaly & practicaly High action takes more effort & time to bring the string to the neck (fretting) than low action, also it's very annoying if you did some Tapping with high action.

Some people (Non-shredders of course) like high action for tonal reasons, but I read that very high action will cause some problems with the Intonation.

Personaly I like normal action, so that I get best balance between tone & playability with no frett buzz.
