Hello all,

I'm a starting out on an electric guitar. I bought my guitar from a store where the guitar was adjusted and the guy at the store ensured that there was no fret buzz.

He also lowered the action so it might be easier to play. I think this has helped a lot. However when I play power chords I hear a slight rattling sound on my E & A string. (The guitar store guy assured that there is nothing wrong with it)

Is it just that I am hitting the strings too hard or not putting my fingers close enough to the fret? Is this a general beginner issue ?

I've been in constant doubt if it's an issue with my technique or with the guitar.
