As William and Dave mention, it's those tiny little adjustments that make the difference. I'm a beginner as well and I've learned that you have to slow it down and make those micro adjustments to correct your technique. It all falls into place and when you look back after a few days, weeks, months and compare what you can do now to back then you will, realise you're making progress. I'm sure you've experienced that from playing the Sax.

By the way my wife plays saxaphone and can read music. She wonders why I'm doing trying to learn such a hard instrument ..... it will all be good.
