I think there is a lot of variability in the way you finger a chord. Some of it is personal preference and a lot of it is situational, depending on where your fingers are coming from and where they are going next.

RE: more than one program at the same time, I am using two very good programs concurrently -Justin Guitar and Guitar Tricks. For me, they complement each other and reinforce each other. I have almost entirely stopped any other random YouTube instructional videos for now though. I need structure at this point, and I don't get that from random YouTubers.
