Can you be more specific about your guitar model?

Is it an e-acoustic or hollow body electric?

Assuming the former, I'd go with a set of 12-53s [u]in any reputable brand.[/u]

My own predilection is for D'Addario EJ-16s or Alice AW430s, both in 12-53. The latter are coated, at a fraction of the price of D'Addario or Elixir. Both are very good and both are available in the lighter gauge of 11-52 if you prefer as a beginner.

Key is buy what you can afford to change strings often.
