I just picked up "The Birth of Loud" at Barnes and Noble. It's a new (2019) paperback about "the guitar-pioneering rivalry that shaped rock 'n roll" - that is, how Leo Fender and Les Paul interacted with each other and with up and coming guitarists as R&R was taking shape and being influenced, or made possible, by the development of the electric guitar. I hadn't seen the book before but looks like a good, easy and, if you are into guitars and the history of rock, interesting read. Might make a good gift for someone or for yourself.
