You know- structure of a song. When writing one you need to think about how it is going to change. As above one good(but predicable) method is switching to the relative major or minor in the chorus.
Typical Song Structure-
Verse
Verse
Chorus
Verse
Chorus
Mid 8
Chorus
Chorus

Chorus is the pharses that some1 sings again in the song eg. "Ooo Sweet Child o Mine... etc."- part in "Sweet Child o Mine

Mid 8 is a break in the song that sounds different but still(usually) uses the same key signature eg. "Youre in the Jungle Baby your gonna Die!"- part in "Welcome to the Jungle"

Do you understand?
