Hi everyone. Ian from the UK. 50 this year and decided to learn the guitar as my mid life crisis. I’ve always fancied the idea but just assumed it would be too difficult. I love music and all my musical heroes are guitar players: Steve Rothery, Steve Hackett, David Gilmour etc.

I bought a cheap own brand electro acoustic from Gear4music a few weeks ago, and last week picked up a B-stock Lindo Rune electric for a cracking price. I’ve had a few lessons and I was stumbling around YouTube looking for help until I came across GT. I took the plunge and signed for a year’s full access.

I’m still on Fundamentals 1. All was going well until I attempted Lisa McC’s first singalong using simple chords. Playing the simple chords is fine, transitioning between them is fine; but trying to sing along and count to 8 at the same time is about as easy as patting your head and rubbing your belly!!

Ah well - keep practising
