No no, you see Joe "Satch" Satriani thought Steve Vai to play (he taught even Kirk Hammett) and John Petrucci is mainly self taught but he took lessons at Barkley as all other Dream Theater members.

From the beggining Eric Johnson was in G3 along with Vai and Satch but was replaced by Petrucci on the last tour (of course not because Johnson is bad our somthing, I guess he didn´t have enough time for a side project). Billy Shehan (amazing bas player is also in the band) and Mike Portony (drummer from Dream Theater) was there as well. What a band.

They have only one record, it´s a live record but that one is from Eric Johnson era.
