Nah, I think a full power chord is an actual chord. 3 note sor more is a chord I think. You might be right, Im not an expert on theory.

Listen to the Rolling Stones and youll know what I mean. Plus the quote is a play on the Faces album "A nod is as good as a wink...to a blind horse" I think its horse anyway.

Three different notes, not just three. If you forget about the octave you just got the 1 and 5, thats an interval. Anyway, power chords only sound great on distortion. I have to seek more complex chords if I'm playing clean.
And God said, 'Let there be rock!'

Yea, I only know a few power chords that sound kind of good without an effect.

I like power chords ´cause they are simple and you can do a lot with ´em especially combinig them with riffs a la Metallica. But clean power chords are like open chords with distortion unmuted. There´s no power at all.

One cool thing wich I learned from Petruccis video is to mix dist power chords with open clean chords. To preform this live, you got to be 2 guitar players but it´s cool when working in studio. You can get some really cool chord and a little bit unusual/orginal chord progressions with this technique.
