I agree with everything you've said here. It is so important to learn at your own pace and like you said, not get caught up comparing yourself to other people. You have to be patient!

And it's so so important to not over practice when you're starting off, because you get burnt out, like you said, you bit off more than you can chew. Always break up whatever you're learning into small chunks. This makes learning the details of a song or technique a bit easier.
