I'm new to this board and i've only been playing for a litlle less than a year (9-10 months something like that). I've never taken lessons untill a month ago - from a guy in my block & on this board called munqy (i think thats how u spell it). Well for someone that has been playing for a year, what is he/she expected to be able to play on the guitar and how well are they meant to do it. I've learnt the basic pentatonic scales up and down the fretboard ( For A minor, E and G) , phyrigian (spelling?) dominant, iolian(spelling), harmonic minor and things like that. what i can play is easy songs like stairway to heaven, and the intro to purple haze and all along the watchtower. I can play bits of voodoo child aswell, without the waa pedal though.

TJ, i mean Munqy - suggested i take up the acoustic guitar for finger strength and dexerity. But what else should i look at when trying to be a more accomplished player (like page, hendrix, rhoads, hammet...etc)
